Public Relation vs journalism

 IMPACT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

 what is Journalism?

The question is what is really journalism mean and how do we benefit form if well the are many ways to define journalism it depends on who you may ask or how you can explain it. To define journalism we can say is a form of writing that tells people about things that are really happened, but that they might not have known about already. People who write journalism are called journalist. Journalist play a very important role in our society as they keep us updated us with daily reports and news, but we all aware that out there are good and bad journalist. Good journalist love to read a lot about important news as we as to check what is currently happening in our society, bad journalist we can say that are those kind of journalists that create their own stories that comes from their thoughts, they do not care what people say about them. most of the time they report information that is not correct and true, they only do that just to make more money on social media channels such as newspaper and on internet.

 Journalist and Public Relation

PR professionals works different  from journalists should not confuse the two but the is a relationship in between. Journalist rely to much on PR professionals to get the sources of news they need and fast, basically we can say that social media is the main source and the tools that both PR professionals and Journalist use in order to disseminate information to the public and also a tool that allows people to create, share or exchange information as well as interacting with people and big brand. Journalists on my view spend 90 percent of their time on social media while PR professionals spend about 95 percent  of their time socializing and interacting with other Public Relations Practitioners to learn or get more information. Journalists act very differently on social media when they want to report to channels. most of the journalists express them selves differently on social media by sharing opinions, thoughts and feelings in addition journalist are always objective when they report. click here to know more about PR and journalism

  1. This sound interesting, Journalism and Public Relations plays a huge role and conveying information to the public. They both benefit from each other, Journalist get interesting stories from Public Relations Practitioner this is in a form of building relationship between the two. while the Public Relations want their stories about their brand to be published by the journalist in the newspapers.

  3. nice blog...We all know that there are professional journalists and some bizarre columnists, but if a journalist publishes information that is not true 'as you indicated in your post' then he/she runs a risk of being sued for defamation, misappropriation etc...I do however agree with your statement that journalists depend on PRP's and PRP's depend on Journalists

  4. Public relations do not necessarily need journalist because PR people release publications such as news releases which shows that we can all be our own journalists
